Run Across America On Trail 2012

run across america on trails logoAfter a couple of years of organising, the day has arrived when Mike Samuelson’s plans are set in motion for this years longest stage race, the Run Across America on Trails. Taking rail and canal trails and 2000 miles of road, the RAAoT will begin tomorrow, May 30, 2012. Unlike previous Tran-Am’s, the 1992-1995 Trans-Am’s and the 2002 and 2004 Runs Across America, the Run Across America on Trail is a nearly 3360 mile route which will take 80 days to run – an average of 42 miles a day. The run will start at Twin Harbors State Park in Washington and end at Cape Henlopen State Park in Delaware at the eastern terminus of the American Discovery Trail.

Organiser Mike Samuelson said there were 4 or 5 runners taking part and updates will be on the website so we will be staying in touch with this great trail run over the next 2 and a half months.
