Jungle Marathon 2017
The 12th edition of the Jungle Marathon, an extreme footrace through primary Amazon Jungle in Tapajos National Forest Brazil, takes place October 5th-14th 2017.
Jungle Marathon, the world’s wildest eco race, gives competitors the opportunity to combine sport and eco tourism and experience this stunning part of the world. The program includes three events – a marathon, a four stage 132 km race and a 6 stage 254 km race.
The course features the complete jungle experience – swamps, river crossings, steep climbs and descents, trails, beaches, humidity and high temperatures makes it a challenging experience.
The race is a self-sufficient stage race. Runners carry all the gear they will need for the duration apart from water which is provided at checkpoints during each stage and at the start and the finish. Competitors sleep at organised campsites at the end of each stage.
